Adquirido en el antiguo distrito alfarero de Jingdezhen

Michael Zhan visitó la zona de Hutian, en Jingdezhen, a finales de la primavera de 2024, recorriendo las estrechas callejuelas donde se fabrica porcelana desde hace más de mil años. El gaiwan es torneado por un taller familiar que aún mezcla su propio caolín y petunse, cociendo en un horno de gas a 1280°C. El pigmento azul es óxido de cobalto molido a mano, pintado con un pincel de mango de bambú mientras la arcilla está en estado de cuero. Michael seleccionó este lote tras inspeccionar el ajuste de la tapa — la firma de un gaiwan bien hecho. Cada uno tiene una sutil asimetría en el roleo de loto pintado, una huella deliberada del artesano. El tamaño de 100ml es ideal para sesiones de gongfu en solitario o para compartir una ronda única con un invitado.
