Michael Zhan 於 2024 年晚春造訪景德鎮湖田地區,漫步於千年來製作瓷器的狹窄巷弄。這只蓋碗由一間依然自行混合高嶺土與釉果的家庭工坊拉坯,在攝氏 1280 度的氣窯中燒製。藍色顏料為手工研磨的氧化鈷,在坯體仍處於皮革般硬度時以竹柄筆繪製。Michael 在檢查蓋子的密合度後挑選了這批貨 — 這正是製作精良蓋碗的標誌。每只蓋碗的蓮花纏枝紋繪畫都帶有微妙的非對稱性,這是製作者刻意留下的指紋印記。100ml 的尺寸非常適合獨自進行功夫泡,或與一位客人分享一輪茶湯。

dry leaf

Kiln-smooth porcelain with a barely perceptible ripple from the hand-painted brushwork; the cobalt blue sits quietly under a clear glaze.

wet leaf

The saucer sits steady, the lid lifts without cling; after a hot rinse, the body warms evenly and quickly.

liquor

The white interior becomes a perfect canvas — any tea liquor glows against it, from pale silver needle to deep rock oolong.

aroma

Porcelain is neutral; it holds no memory and adds nothing, allowing the tea’s own fragrance to rise unmasked from the cup.

taste

A thin, crisp lid-lip that doesn’t lag the pour; the cup shape holds heat long enough for multiple infusions without scalding the fingers.

finish

The pour is a clean, uninterrupted ribbon from three-point opening — no drips, no hesitation — and the lid settles back with a soft ceramic whisper.
