Michael Zhan 首次遇见林氏家族是在一次春季采购之旅,当时他穿越了古御窑外狭窄的巷道。他们的作坊位于河边,四周挂满架子上未完成的素坯。他抵达的那一天,一批新出窑的青瓷刚从龙窑(柴烧)卸下 — 碗、杯,以及一组素雅的盖碗。没有彩绘,没有压印纹饰;只有青瓷釉随着光线由蓝转绿的宁静光泽。

Michael 用了整个下午亲手测试每一件器皿。他想要一个在掌中几乎无感的盖碗,盖子扣合平稳不摇晃,碟盘够深,能承接初次淋壶的茶汤。经过数十次尝试,这个110毫升的造型脱颖而出 — 低调的形制,平衡极佳,口沿薄得恰到好处,传热却不烫手。

陶土来自附近的高岭土矿床,那些曾数世纪为御窑供应的同一矿脉。烧制时程依循月相:缓慢升温至锥 10 号,保温恰到好处的时间,以引出青瓷的丝缎般润泽。没有任何捷径。每一只盖碗都带有拉坯而成的那一丝不对称,提醒人们它出自匠人之手。
