这套杯组始于福建德化一个潮湿的早晨,Michael Zhan 花了两天时间拜访了三家小型瓷器作坊。他寻觅的是一只能够达到功夫茶标准的30毫升杯子,同时还要有低调自信的薄度 — 不摇晃、不变形,杯缘纤细得近乎无感。他最终选择的那间作坊,以当地高岭土制作茶器已传承三代,并以1,300°C高温烧制。他们的注浆成型工艺确保每只杯子的胎壁厚度一致,六只叠放时能完美对齐。Michael 在测试了十数个原型件的抗热震性与手感后,选定了这批成品。每只杯子注满至杯口恰好盛装30毫升,为茶汤上方留出香气聚集的空间。杯子以未漂白棉纸包裹送达,附有一张简朴纸卡,印着德化匠人的印章。它们用于那些以茶为焦点而非杯具的席间 — 一件在手中隐退的工具。
