這套杯組始於福建德化一個潮濕的早晨,Michael Zhan 花了兩天時間拜訪了三家小型瓷器作坊。他尋覓的是一只能夠達到功夫茶標準的30毫升杯子,同時還要有低調自信的薄度 — 不搖晃、不變形,杯緣纖細得近乎無感。他最終選擇的那間作坊,以當地高嶺土製作茶器已傳承三代,並以1,300°C高溫燒製。他們的注漿成型工藝確保每只杯子的胎壁厚度一致,六只疊放時能完美對齊。Michael 在測試了十數個原型件的抗熱震性與手感後,選定了這批成品。每只杯子注滿至杯口恰好盛裝30毫升,為茶湯上方留出香氣聚集的空間。杯子以未漂白棉紙包裹送達,附有一張簡樸紙卡,印著德化匠人的印章。它們用於那些以茶為焦點而非杯具的席間 — 一件在手中隱退的工具。
