From Kunming labs to your kettle
Sandry Law, our Head of Procurement based in Kunming, first carried a prototype TDS meter during a sourcing trip through Yunnan. Every guesthouse tap water produced a different reading, and those variations often marked the difference between a flat infusion and a lively one. Determined to offer a reliable, affordable meter for our customers, he worked directly with a long-trusted Shenzhen manufacturer to refine the sensor sensitivity and streamline the user interface. Each unit is checked against a controlled 342 ppm sodium chloride solution before leaving the factory — the same calibration standard Sandry uses in his own tea evaluations. After years of using it both in the field and at home, he still reaches for this model when testing new water sources, from Kunming’s local springs to the filtered lines at our warehouse. It’s not a laboratory instrument, but it’s honest, repeatable, and designed for the daily ritualist who wants to know exactly what’s in their brewing water.
